Gilbarco Veeder-Root announced today that after extensive testing of Passport® version 11.04B, CITGO Petroleum Corporation officially released EMV acceptance software for retailers at the forecourt. Along with EMV, Version 11.04B brings Passport EDGE to the CITGO network and is now available to CITGO branded sites with Gilbarco Veeder-Root dispensers. Passport EDGE is Gilbarco’s new tablet-based POS system which is streamlined for small businesses, available as a low cost subscription, and EMV-ready indoor and outdoor acceptance.
CITGO performed hundreds of thousands of indoor EMV transactions across the United States throughout the last two years, and the Passport POS sites with Version 11.04B software allows CITGO retailers with Gilbarco Veeder-Root dispensers access to outdoor EMV card acceptance capabilities. With this new technology to install EMV chip-card readers at automated fuel pumps, retailers will be able to protect their customers, differentiate their brands, and also become EMV-compliant ahead of the fast-approaching 2020 deadline.
